Happy New Year everyone! Hope everyone survived the holidays and did not accidentally get glutened.
Have you made your New Year’s resolutions yet? Was one of them to lose weight? Sorry, I am about to tempt you and test your resolve right now.
I just learned that the Girl Scouts will be debuting two new gluten-free cookies this year. The first is called Toffee-Tastic and features sweet crunchy toffee bits. The second cookie is called Trios and features chocolate chips in a peanut butter, oatmeal cookie.
According to the labels, these cookies are certified gluten free. ABC Bakers, who supply the gluten-free cookies claim that their cookies are: (Source: http://www.abcsmartcookies.com/gf-cookie-councils)
- Made in a dedicated gluten-free facility
- Made with real chocolate chips, real peanut butter and certified gluten free whole grain oats
- Contain absolutely no:
- Artificial colors or flavor
- High-fructose corn syrup
- Palm oil
- Hydrogenated oils
Please use caution as the Toffee-Tastic cookies also feature a non-gluten free version. The gluten-free variety will only be offered in select Girl Scout council markets for as long as supplies last. The gluten-freeTrios will be premiering in a number of test markets this year.
